Description
Commitment anxiety refers to an insurmountable fear of feelings, closeness, intimacy, self-commitment, and commitment attributed to those individuals who maintain a sexual or romantic relationship with another person but reject their partner’s desire for a full partnership. From their partner’s perspective, these individuals enjoy many of the comforts of the relationship but refuse to commit wholeheartedly to the relationship. The relationship remains in limbo. For the partner, this can create considerable distress. The causes of attachment problems in the partnership usually go back to early childhood or traumatic experiences in adolescence. Experiences of loss can also lead to an attachment disorder. The chip is intended to help identify the causes of attachment anxiety and overcome them.
