The optic nerve is the II. cranial nerve and a part of the visual pathway. Its function is to transmit visual information from the retina to the corpus geniculatum laterale (lateral malleolus).
The chip serves to stabilize the 2nd cranial nerve N.opticus and to support it with all its functions.
