ASS – Amino Acid Metabolism

The amino acid metabolism comprises the biochemical processes involved in the synthesis, breakdown and conversion of amino acids. Amino acids serve as building blocks for the synthesis of all proteins. They also act as nitrogen donors in the synthesis of nitrogencontaining compounds. Individual amino acids are precursors of neurotransmitters and hormones (e.g. catecholamines). The chip (ASS) is supposed to support the amino acid metabolism.
