PSY A 10 – Fear of Losing Control

Even for psychologically stable people, it means extreme stress when control of their destiny is suddenly taken out of their hands and they become the pawn of events. However, this is exactly what takeovers, mergers and restructuring mean for employees and managers: From one moment to the next, the further course of their (professional) lives is no longer in their own hands, but is determined by the decisions of third parties. Such a loss of control initially triggers fear, anger and resistance; if it is not possible to regain control, the frustration turns into helplessness and resignation. The chip should help to overcome the fear of losing control in order to regain control.
